Nourish Your Soul with Creativity

If you’ve been feeling creatively stuck or longing for a way to slow down and reconnect with yourself, a day of intuitive art-making might be just what your soul needs.

On Saturday, June 21, I’m hosting a 1-day mini retreat in my serene home studio in Hedgesville, WV, nestled in a golf community surrounded by 20,000 acres of forest. This Nourish Your Soulretreat is a bite-sized version of my popular 3-day weekend retreat and is perfect if you’re short on time—or just want a taste before committing to the full experience.

We’ll explore intuitive painting, clay play, movement, monoprinting, and guided meditation in a peaceful setting where everything is provided—including a nutritious lunch. You’ll have space to create without judgment, tune into your inner world, and leave feeling refreshed and reconnected.

Whether the sun is shining or rain is tapping on the studio windows, the creative energy flows—because it’s about process, not product. These retreats are inspired by Natalie Rogers’ Creative Connection method, which blends expressive art and movement to awaken the unconscious and encourage deep personal growth.

☔ Can’t Make It? Try This Soulful Creative Activity at Home

Rainy days are the perfect invitation to slow down and listen inward. Here’s a simple, soul-nourishing activity you can do at home with very few materials:

“Intuitive Rain Print”

You’ll need:

  • Watercolor paper or cardstock

  • Water-soluble markers or watercolor paints

  • A small spray bottle of water or access to gentle rain

  • Your favorite music or silence

What to do:

  1. Scribble or brush loose marks across your paper using colors that feel good to you—don’t overthink it.

  2. Take the paper outside in the rain for just a few seconds, or spritz it gently with a spray bottle.

  3. Watch as the colors shift and bleed into each other.

  4. Let it dry flat. Then, write a word or phrase across the top that reflects how you feel or what the image reminds you of.

This is a wonderful way to practice letting go of control—a core part of intuitive art-making.
